Curved Organic Home with Fengshui Influence
Type: 3 Room BTO | Location: Fernvale, Singapore | Home to: 1 Adult
Designer: Afiqah Agus | Project Manager: Felicia Leong
For our client who often hosts friends for meals and stay overs, home is a space to meditate and enjoy hobbies in. The dining table sits in the original living room, with rattan bifold doors to conceal the entryway. One bedroom is then converted into the living room, while the corridor is reconfigured from part of the master bedroom, allowing access to both bathrooms.
Because of our client’s fengshui practices, great care is taken to prevent sharp angles by designing rounded cabinetry and ledges. Cylindrical forms were added for geometric corrections in areas with space constraints, harmoniously blending with the geometric wall sconces.
This space is elegantly crafted with subtle details and textures, from the curved wardrobe paneling to the ribbed kitchen glass cabinets. The warm palette of dark wood, brass and organic materials complement our client’s traditional chinese landscape paintings, creating a cozy and restful home of her own.
