What do you do to relax?

Turn on warm lighting, put on some soft music and enjoy a glass of whisky alone in my room. Sometimes I like to start a new art project that is completely unrelated to work (like, making an animation of me cutting my bangs), and other times I just turn up the music and sing like I’m in a KTV lounge. Sigh I miss pre-covid days.

What’s top on your Bucket’s List?

Generally along the lines of retiring into the countryside to set up a farm. Even though there’s no countryside I have access to and neither do I know any farming skills outside of Stardew Valley.

One thing I definitely would love to achieve in life is to rescue as many cats and dogs as possible, especially those that require palliative care and love. Convince more people to give non-pedigrees a chance. Adopt, don’t shop!

What does work mean to you?

Work is discipline, work is finding meaning in the most mundane of tasks, and perhaps work is making other people’s lives better. I don’t know, sometimes you just wanna work so you can afford your own kind of fun. Work is certainly not my entire life, and I find thinking about it realistically helps me get through each day.

Why do you do what you do?

I enjoy making things and anything creative really.

Where is your next travel destination?

I’d love to go back to Sicily and anywhere along the mediterranean coast. The food is amazing, people are friendly, and the scenery there is to die for. But the city girl in me wants to go back to Seoul and put on 10 layers of sweater in the freezing winter while chasing some oppars.

If you have unlimited resources, which world problem would you wrestle with?

Poverty. Everyone should have a chance to live a life with dignity.

What's a good film/series/book/podcast to recommend?

I stick to YouTube mostly, there’re just so many things you can explore there!

Favourite channels:

Vsauce - Lots of interesting physics knowledge, and wonderful storytelling

Tom Scott - He can make the most boring things sound so interesting!

JCS - Criminal Psychology - There are lots of amazing crime and murder mystery channels out there, but this one has great commentary without excessive gossip

If you could only eat this for the rest of your life- what would it be?

Maybe some spaghetti…

For real though, I don’t mind eating natto everyday. It’s good for your body you know.

Why is good design important to you ?

Good design must be both aesthetically pleasing and functional. Because everything is a lived experience.

Describe the best experience that comes to mind

Almost died climbing Calanque de Morgiou in Marseille (I know, it’s not that challenging but my friend and I were noobs), but the view was breathtaking. I also think back on a lot of simpler joys, like exploring Europe alone, or having an illegal campfire at Siloso beach.
