Xi Wen

Xiwen graduated from NUS, with a Bachelors' degree (Hons) in Project and Facilitiles Management. Prior to joining Buildbuilt, Xiwen has been gaining experience at different firms that focused on different aspects of the construction industry, from facilities management to quantity surveying to project management.

Project management still remained as her primary interest as she finds joy in communicating with suppliers and clients from all walks of life and eventually building purposeful and beautiful living spaces with Buildbuilt's designers. As she embarks on this journey with Buildbuilt, she hopes to provide clients with a peace of mind during the planning and construction phase of projects and gain knowledge to build designs that are unconventional yet functional.

What do you do to relax?

Watching shows, spending time with my family and friends, beach walks. As long as I'm away from my phone.

What’s work mean to you?

Work means endless learning opportunities and creating or contributing something of value or purpose whilst being reciprocated for the amount of effort that was put in.

Why do what you do?

I wanted to follow my heart and explore the possibilities working in the interior design field! So far working as a PM, I really loved seeing designs coming to life and I would always imagine how I would design and build my own house next time.

What’s top on your bucket list?

Travelling to all continents at least once!

Where’s your next travel destination? what’s interesting to see?

There're too many cities I want to visit.. Right now, I just want to head to JB for the food though. Next may be Japan/Korea since I haven't been!

If you had unlimited resources, which world problem would you wrestle with? Why though?

Poverty, because no one should live in poverty and not have their minimum living conditions met.

What’s a good film/series/book/podcast to recommend?

Friends / Grey's Anatomy!

If you could only eat this for the rest of your life - what would it be?

My mum's homecooked food! or Sushi/Chirashi Dons hmmmm

Why is good design important to you ?

Besides providing an aesthetic appeal, good design creates functionality and efficiency in daily life.

Describe the best experience that comes to mind.

Sleeping in, exploring new hideouts, good meals, chill drinks.
